THE DELANCO’S FIELD OF DREAMS IS ABOUT TO BECOME REALITY.  THE GROUNDBREAKING WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR THE SPRING OF 2011 AND YOU CAN BECOME A PART OF IT!

Today the topic of discussion is naming the new township field out at Pennington Park.  This is the field that is better known as the “Field of Dream’s”.  Many years have passed and the time is finally here to break ground and get this project moving.  We believe that a contest should be created to come up with a name for the new park.  The contest is open to all residents of Delanco.  Each contestant should compose a one page written summary of what the park should be named and why.  Selections could range from Famous People of Delanco/Burlington County, A Catchy Slogan, An Imaginary Name, etc…  The Recreation Commission will gather all the results and present the Township Committee with the “5” best and from that “5” a winner will be selected by the Township Committee.  We think this will be a creative way to challenge all the residents of Delanco to come up with a fabulous name for our newly created park.

The winning contestant will be a part of the groundbreaking ceremony and receive a groundbreaking shovel.  The shovel will be engraved with the contestant’s name, date and name selected for the park.

So break out your pen and paper, put on your thinking cap and present your idea!
